A large retail chain specializing in home decor and furniture with eight Arizona locations has filed for bankruptcy and plans to close 26 stores nationwide.

At Home Group Inc. filed Monday, June 16 for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as the retailer navigates tariff challenges.

The retailer operates locations in Gilbert, Mesa, Phoenix, Peoria, Prescott, Scottsdale, Tempe and Tucson. None of these are part of the initial closings. Six years ago in 2019, the home furnishings retailer purchased real estate in Phoenix for an expansion.

In 2017, the company announced the opening of its Gilbert location in a 108,000-square-foot space at San Tan Pavilions.
