The Plano bomb squad responded to an incident Monday involving an abandoned replica grenade discovered on a charter bus.
The grenade was eventually found to be inert and it belonged to a passenger who had been on the bus the previous day.
"They were able to be contacted by the owner of the bag who said that it was an inert hand grenade that was his grandfather's and was a war replica," said Detective Jerry Minton with the Plano Police Department.
The bus was evacuated and traffic on surrounding roads near Central Expressway and Spring Creek Parkway was halted.
The Plano Police Hazardous Devices Unit was called out and confirmed that the device was harmless.
Investigators will eventually decide whether charges are appropriate in this incident.
No one was hurt.
