Mill District in Healdsburg breaks ground for new pool house
As a part of their $500 million project, the Healdsburg condo complex also plans to add a luxury hotel.
The developers of the Mill District condominium and apartment complex in downtown Healdsburg have started the next phase of their project by breaking ground on a pool house project last month.
The luxury complex will offer The Poolhouse and its private amenities which will include a 75-foot lap pool, fitness center, lounge and deck space, according to a press release from the Vancouver-based developers, Replay Destinations.
There will also be two storefront spaces facing Healdsburg Avenue that include an 1,800-square-foot venue and a 500-square-foot shop that Replay is looking to have businesses fill. Once open, they will be available to the public.
Mike McCone, vice president of the development group, said in a statement they are looking for a business that will “truly complement the fabric of this neighborhood.”
“This is an opportunity to shape a destination that is deeply authentic and rooted in Healdsburg. Our vision encompasses immersive, locally inspired spaces. ... We’re committed to discovering the right fit that resonates with locals, visitors and Mill District residents,” McCone said.
The pool house is expected to be completed next summer and is part of a $500 million project that was originally proposed in 2017, with construction beginning in 2022.
Developers also converted 12 rental apartments to for-sale condos in an effort to offer more middle income housing.
The Canopy has 43 condominiums in the complex and to date, they boast about $100 million in real estate sales, according to the press release. These homes start at $1.65 million and McCone confirmed there are 16 available, including two penthouses.
The Mill District is home to the first five penthouses in Sonoma County. These homes offer “tree-level living” on the complex’s fourth floor and rival the prices of penthouses in San Francisco on Zillow.
In December, Mill District offered a 3,600-square-foot penthouse with more than 2,004 square feet of outdoor space for sale at $8.6 million. Another penthouse with 3,189 square feet and an additional 1,052 square feet of outdoor living space was up for sale at $7.5 million.
In addition to the pool house, developers are still planning to add a luxury boutique hotel with a restaurant and bar, a 1,700-square-foot commercial building and another retail space.
