SOUTHEASTERN N.C. (WECT) - Towns, cities, and organizations are inviting the community to celebrate the Fourth of July with fun events across the region.

SOUTHPORT

N.C. Fourth of July Parade

The North Carolina Fourth of July Parade will be held on Friday, July 4, in Southport starting at 11 a.m.

WILMINGTON

Fleet Feet Wilmington Battle for Independence Road Race

Fleet Feet Wilmington will host the Battle for Independence Road Race.

The event features a timed 5K race and an untimed 1K race, both of which will start and finish at the Pointe at Barclay.

The race is will take place on Friday, July 4.

Hannah Block Historic USO Open House

The Hannah Block Community Center will hold a July 4th Open House.

The event will feature swing dancing, a documentary film viewing, and free coffee and doughnuts.

The free event is set for Friday, July 4, from 12 to 4 p.m.

The City of Wilmington will host a Fourth of July Celebration.

The event will feature a performance from the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and a fireworks show.

The free event is set for Friday, July 4, at Riverfront Park starting at 5:00 p.m.
