The affidavit states that two people, identified as Keshawn Stafford and Zahra Gowani, told officers that a party was thrown that night at the short-term rental house. The man who threw the party, Montreal Gordon, called them to the party because someone at the party had stolen his money and guns, according to the report.
The two arrived at the house on Fern Avenue with two guns and an AR-style pistol. The automatic pistol was given to Gordon, while the other two handguns were placed on a counter, the affidavit states.
Vaughn took one of the guns, held it against Stafford’s head, and told him to leave, while 18-year-old Jaylin McNairy held Gowani at gunpoint, according to the affidavit.
Once Stafford and Gowani were outside, they called 911, and told officers that’s when Vaughn and McNairy began firing shots at them. They fished a 9mm handgun out of Gowani’s purse and returned fire, striking Vaughn in the leg, police said.
McNairy was arrested on Monday afternoon and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
Vaughn was released from TriStar Skyline on Thursday, June 5, and booked on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. He is being held on a $350,000 bond.
