WPD: Man stabbed by roommate, investigation underway

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a stabbing.
Officers responded to a dispute call in the 300 block of Mercer Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they found two male roommates had been in an argument that turned violent.
Police said one of the roommates stabbed the other, causing serious injury.
WPD said the victim has been taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Officials said the suspect ran away before officers arrived on scene.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim or suspect at this time.
The investigation is on-going.
